Virtual Try-On takes a person photo and a garment photo and generates a believable on-model preview. Use it for product try-on imagery, lookbooks, and ads where you want a real-looking person in your specific garment. URL: /app/Creative/virtual-try-on.

Steps

  1. Open Virtual Try-OnGo to /app/Creative/virtual-try-on.open in Apiway
  2. Upload the person photoFront-facing, well-lit shots produce the best results.
  3. Upload the garment photoFlat-lay, on-mannequin, or on-model inputs all work.
  4. GenerateApiway composites the garment onto the person and returns a preview saved to your gallery.

Inputs and limits

  • Exactly 2 images required: one person photo, one garment photo. The API rejects requests with a different file count.
  • Person photo: front-facing, well-lit shots produce the best results. Studio or natural light both work.
  • Garment photo: flat-lay, on-mannequin, or on-model. The AI extracts the garment and overlays it onto the person.
  • Per file: ≤ 60 MB. Total: ≤ 200 MB.

Important: uploading a copyrighted photo (Pinterest, Instagram, Google Images) of a person you do not have rights to and shipping the result as a commercial ad is not safe. Use:

  • Your own photos with model release in hand, or
  • A photo set from the Creators marketplace where the photographer has certified the model release and the model is paid as a co-author.

See Why you should not upload random Pinterest photos for the legal exposure breakdown.

Cost per generation

Standard credit cost from the cost summary. No marketplace surcharge applies for Virtual Try-On unless you are using a marketplace creator photo (in which case use Styled Photoset instead, which is built around marketplace integration).
