How to withdraw your creator earnings from the Apiway marketplace

Apiway's creator marketplace pays earnings into a separate balance from your generation credits — that balance is payout-only and exists to be withdrawn to fiat (PayPal by default, Wise / bank transfer on request). The withdraw flow is a single button on the Earnings tab that emails the Apiway team; the team reaches back out by email within 1–2 business days to collect your PayPal or Wise details and run the payout. This guide walks through the button, the alternative direct-email route, what info to send, and what to expect on timing and taxes.

What you need

  • An Apiway creator account with a positive marketplace balance
  • A PayPal email (default rail) or Wise / bank details (alternative rail)

Steps

  1. Open Creators → Earnings tab

From the sidebar, open Creators. Click the Earnings tab (next to Profile and Listings). The page shows your withdrawable balance, total credits earned all-time, earnings broken down by listing, and a recent earnings ledger. The numbers refresh automatically when you open the tab.

    Open in Apiway

  2. Confirm your withdrawable balance

The big number at the top is your withdrawable balance — credits currently available to withdraw. This can be LOWER than total earned because past withdrawals already drew it down. Apiway's USD-equivalent shows in parentheses next to the credit number so you can sanity-check the dollar amount before requesting. There is no minimum threshold enforced in-app, but practically it's worth letting the balance grow to a meaningful amount before requesting because each payout has a small administrative overhead on the Apiway side.

  3. Click Withdraw Request

On the Earnings tab, the Withdraw Request button sits right next to the balance. Click it. A confirmation modal asks: "Send withdraw request? We will receive your request and contact you by email soon." Click Continue to confirm — the request fires immediately, the modal closes, and a success notice appears on the Earnings page.

  4. Wait for the team to email you back

Behind the button, Apiway sends an automated email to the team's inbox ([email protected]) containing your user ID, account email, account name, current marketplace balance, and timestamp. The team responds from [email protected] within 1–2 business days asking for your PayPal email (or Wise / bank details if you prefer). Reply with the requested info and the payout runs.

  5. Reply with your payout details

Default rail is PayPal — provide the PayPal email tied to your account. Alternatives: Wise (recipient name + email + currency, or full bank coordinates) or direct bank transfer (IBAN / SWIFT / SEPA depending on country). Currency is USD by default; the team can settle in EUR, GBP, or your local currency on request — flag the preferred currency in your reply. The team confirms receipt and runs the transfer.

  6. Track the payout

From request to PayPal/bank: typically 3–5 business days end-to-end. PayPal arrives the same business day after the team triggers the transfer; Wise / bank rails take 1–3 business days on top. The team confirms by email when the transfer is sent. The balance on the Earnings tab does NOT update in real-time during the support flow — it adjusts after the team marks the payout complete in the back office (usually within 24h of the actual transfer).

  7. Skip the button and email directly (alternative path)

If the in-app button isn't working for any reason, or you want to flag a non-standard situation (e.g., switching from PayPal to Wise mid-cycle, requesting a partial withdrawal, asking about reconciliation), you can email [email protected] directly. Include: your account email (the one you signed up with on Apiway), the amount or 'full balance' you want to withdraw, your preferred rail (PayPal email, Wise details, or IBAN), and your preferred currency. Same SLA — 1–2 business days to first response.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to spend marketplace balance credits on AI generation

Marketplace earnings are a SEPARATE balance from your plan-based generation credits — by design, payout-only. They cannot be spent on White Studio, Reference Photoshoots, or any other template even though they show up in credit units. Generation credits replenish each month per your plan; marketplace credits accrue from buyer pickups and exist to be withdrawn to fiat.

  • Filing a withdraw request without a payout method already in mind

When the team emails back asking for PayPal or Wise, you'll save a round-trip if you reply with the details on hand. Open your PayPal account or set up a Wise recipient before requesting, so the back-and-forth is one email instead of three.

  • Requesting tiny amounts ($2–$5) repeatedly instead of letting the balance accrue

Each payout has a fixed admin overhead on Apiway's side and may have a fee on your rail's side (PayPal cross-border, Wise transfer fee). Letting the balance grow to a meaningful amount — say $50+ — before requesting nets you a higher take-home percentage and reduces transfer friction.

  • Assuming Apiway withholds taxes or issues a tax form automatically

Apiway does NOT withhold taxes. Earnings are paid gross and you're responsible for declaring them in your local jurisdiction. If you need an invoice for your accountant or a year-end summary, email [email protected] with the request and the team will provide what's needed. Don't assume a 1099 / equivalent shows up by default.

  • Confusing 'Total credits earned' with 'Withdrawable balance'

Total earned is your all-time gross; withdrawable balance is what's available right now after prior withdrawals. They will diverge as soon as you've taken any payouts. Always look at withdrawable balance — that's the number the team can actually pay out today.

Troubleshooting

  • Where exactly is the Withdraw Request button?

Creators (sidebar) → Earnings tab. The button sits right under the balance number at the top of the page. Direct app path: /app/creators (then click Earnings tab). The button only appears when you have a creator account; if you've never published a profile or photo set you won't see the Earnings tab.

  • Is the withdrawal automatic or does someone process it?

Manual, support-led flow. Clicking Withdraw Request emits an automated email to the Apiway team ([email protected]) with your user ID, email, account name, current balance, and timestamp. The team responds within 1–2 business days asking for payout details (PayPal email or Wise). Once you reply, the team runs the transfer manually. End-to-end timing: typically 3–5 business days from request to money in your account.

  • What payout methods are supported? PayPal? Wise? Bank transfer?

Default is PayPal — fastest path, same-business-day arrival once the team triggers the transfer. Alternatives on request: Wise (recommended for non-USD currencies), direct bank transfer via IBAN/SWIFT/SEPA. USD by default; EUR, GBP, and major local currencies on request. Crypto and other rails are not currently supported. Specify your preferred rail and currency in your reply when the team emails you.

  • Is there a minimum withdrawal amount?

No hard minimum is enforced in the app. Practically: each payout carries a small admin overhead on Apiway's side and may have a transfer fee on your rail's side, so very small payouts ($2–$5) are inefficient on take-home percentage. We recommend letting the balance grow to $50+ before requesting; this is guidance, not a rule.

  • Why can't I just spend my marketplace balance on AI generation in the app?

By design — marketplace balance and plan-based generation credits are intentionally separate balances. Marketplace credits exist to be withdrawn to fiat (creators want cash, not in-platform spend); generation credits exist to be spent on AI generation (buyers' plan budget). Mixing them would muddy the licensing and tax model. If you want to use Apiway as a buyer too, top up generation credits via your plan; your marketplace balance keeps accruing on the side and stays withdrawable.

  • What about taxes? Will I get a 1099 / tax form?

Apiway does not withhold taxes, and does not automatically issue tax forms (1099 / equivalent). Earnings are paid gross and you're responsible for declaring them as self-employment / freelance income in your local jurisdiction. If you need an invoice for accounting or a year-end summary of total payouts, email [email protected] — the team will generate what your accountant needs.

  • What if my withdrawable balance shows higher than the sum of my recorded sales?

The Earnings page surfaces a notice when this happens ("Your withdrawable balance is higher than the sum of recorded sales"). It usually means the ledger is mid-rebuild and will reconcile on its own within a few minutes. If the discrepancy persists for more than a day, email [email protected] with a screenshot — the team can reconcile manually. Either way, the withdrawable balance is the authoritative number for payouts; if it shows too high, the team will catch it on their side too.

  • Can I skip the button and just email [email protected] directly?

Yes — totally fine. The button is a convenience that auto-emails the team with your account info pre-filled; emailing directly works the same. Include in your email: account email (the one you signed up with on Apiway), the amount or 'full balance' you want, preferred rail (PayPal email, Wise details, or IBAN), and preferred currency. Response SLA is the same: 1–2 business days.

  • Will withdrawals ever become automatic?

On the roadmap. The current manual flow is a deliberate trade-off: it lets the team verify each payout against the ledger and keep the operational guarantees tight while the marketplace scales. As the volume warrants, Apiway will move to automatic Stripe Connect / equivalent rails. Until then, the manual path is the official supported flow — not a workaround.
